February Cuvee Club ‘08

Luigi Baudana Chardonnay 2005
Not an indigenous grape to Italy, but more and more common. From the Langhe, a generic appellation in Piedmonte. Somewhere between old world and new world in style, this Chardonnay has a full flavor of apples and pears with ample acidity.   $14.99

Dunning Cabernet Sauvignon 2003
From the fast growing district of Paso Robles, in Central California, and the "Westside", the more desirable side of Rt. 101 which runs the length of California, this Cab has delicious fruit and shows the structure from oak. Think of braised shortribs.   $24.99

Altos las Hormigas Malbec 2006
Smooth and rich, with suggestions of blueberry and blackberry. Malbec is becoming our most requested varietal.   $11.99

Vinia Herminia Rioja 2004
This is considered a tinto or roble in Rioja, the most famous wine growing area in Spain, because of it's spending only three months in oak. Fresher and fruitier than many Tempranillos from this area.   $10.99

Palagetto Santa Chiara Vernacchia 2006
A white grape from San Gimignano in Tuscany, this version spends some time on the lees to give it a fuller mouth feel while still retaining its crisp style. Good as an aperitif or a table wine.   $14.99

Angeline Pinot Noir 2006
This Pinot from the Russian River section of Sonoma County is light in body, but with delicious fruit containing a hint of fresh berries. A great match for a wide variety of foods, but especially with salmon.   $14.99
